The 2009 Keystone Alpaca Classic presented by the Manitoba Alpaca
Club was held on Easter Weekend (April 10-12) at the Keystone
Agricultural Centre of Excellence in Brandon Manitoba. This year’s
show was one of the best ever, with over 45 farms from Ontario,
Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta with an extremely high quality
of competition. Judge Sara Jane Maclennan from Colorado did a
fabulous show with the high caliber of competition.
The show was our largest ever with 256 entries being judged! One
of the highlights of our show was a visit by the Easter bunny which
resulted in an easter egg hunt for the kids on Sunday morning. Fun
was had by all who participated.
The supreme male huacaya was High Plains Highlander from High Plains Alpacas.
The supreme female huacaya was TnC Whoa Nelly Furtado from TnC Farms.
The sire’s progeny winner was HFLA Super Sam from High Plains Alpacas.
The dam’s progeny winner was Snowflake’s Charm from Agassiz Alpacas.

The 2009 Keystone Alpaca Classic was a huge success and we are looking forward to continuing that success next year on April 9-11, 2010. Thank you to everyone that participated and we hope to see you in 2010!
